This book was cute; appropriate for the intended audience. There was one sort of important plot hole (the intruder) that I assume is supposed to be addressed in the second book. In addition, I found some editorial mistakes as other reviewers have mentioned. At first, I had a brief aggravation with the writing style. The author seems to prefer sentences combined by semicolons and dashes. Sometimes, they seemed to be used interchangeably and a large amount of sentences followed this compound structure. I'm a little more stylistically picky; I prefer a variety of sentence structures and lengths within each paragraph. Overall, my opinion of the book is favorable and I would suggest the author continue developing her talents.Product details

I can't believe this is the end ,just when it was getting good ,it ended ,to short I will not recommend this book to no one. I was hoping for book 2 but didn't find one.

It was a great short story. I want to know what happen to the mystery guy? I would have like to see the story continue...m
This was a very short book. It jumps from topic to topic with no real resolution or explanation. It is listed as Book 1, but there are no more books currently out. But instead of a teaser to draw me into the family and a series, it seemed more like the writer had lots of ideas that she wanted to put on paper, but didn't really develop them. ***Spoiler Alert a few pages on the house burning down. A few pages on an intruder in the house next door. A few pages on a man digging holes in the backyard. One mention of a treasure map. Then a quick wrap up without mentioning any of those things again. So strange and random. Also a LOT of editing errors. That was the first thing my 14 year old picked up on. Nothing seemed to flow. Ideas need to be developed. This was free on the kindle when we got it, hence no loss. Writing this review in case you were considering purchasing, it wouldn't be worth spending your money on.
My ten and thirteen year old daughters enjoyed the book. They both would recommend it.
All this stuff happens to one family, but nothing gets resolved. The biggest one- there is an intruder, he comes back to dig holes in the yard, there is a mention of a map, and then nothing. The book just ends. What a disappointment!
